Live Labs is excited to supports this year’s Adversarial Information Retrieval on the Web (AIRWeb’2007) workshop. AIRWeb is a series of international workshops focusing on Adversarial Information Retrieval on the Web that brings together both researchers and industry practitioners, to present and discuss advances in the state of the art. This year’s workshop will be co-located with the WWW 2007 conference in Banff, Canada May 8-12th. We are also introducing, for the first time, a Web Spam challenge in collaboration with the EU Network of Excellence PASCAL Challenge Program. The web spam challenge will test different spam detection techniques on a shared reference collection.

Important dates:

• 23 February 2007: Deadline for paper submissions
• 15 March 2007: Notifications
• 30 March 2007: Deadline for participating in the Web Spam Challenge
• 8 May 2007: Date of workshop

As we continue to collaborate with the academic community, we are always amazed by the depth of talent. At this time Microsoft Live Labs, in conjunction with Microsoft Research, would like to announce the four winners of this years’ Live Labs Fellowship awards.  

The 2007 Live Labs Fellows are:

Each fellowship includes a $20,000 stipend, payment of tuition/fees, and conference travel for two years. In addition, we offer each Fellow a brand new Tablet-PC preloaded with Microsoft software and the opportunity to be a 12-week, salaried intern.

Congratulations to an outstanding set of graduate students who we feel will reinvent the Internet as we know it.
