We would love to hear your comments and feedback about your experience with Deepfish. What works, what doesn't?  Would you like to see something new added or something implemented differently?  Just add a comment to this post and let us know what you think.

As a member of the Live Labs team I will take the first stab at providing some feedback. I love that the page layouts are preserved for my favorite news sites, like the NY Times. Unfortunately, that site, and many of my favorites, require a login to read a story. It would be great if cookies were supported in any further

I also really like that holding the center button on the joypad odf a pocketPC acts as a back button. I would like to see that work on smarthphones as well even though they have a back button. Plus, it might make a great feature for IE mobile too.

Seems like the stylus is not a supported device for deepfish browsing on PPC Phone interface.

Am I missing something?

Brian, stylus is supported. You can use it move the gray view port or the main page or even the small graybox in the cue-map.

I just downloaded and installed in my Dell X51 but it didn´t work. I got this "INTERNAL: Connection mananger is not able to establish a connection", so does it works on normal PPCs or just on phone edition ones?
3/29/2007 12:49:58 AM UTC
Looks pretty good! I browsed over a couple of sites that are pretty layout heavy and with lots of graphics, and the thumbnail view was pretty much spot on with my desktop browser.

I'd like to see soom better stylus support - why not use it to draw a rectangle to zoom in on?

could not install with vista installer, but CAB file worked fine

This is really cool! It works really need. Of course there are the obvious limitations like AJAX and such, but all in all a very clever idea!
It could perform a little better on pan though. It's a bit jaggy and slow (I'm using QTEK8310)

I've only been using it for 20min, but thought I would give a quick first impression. Not bad. Reminds me of that service that would do the same thing for $50 a year for PPC a few years back. One problem I see already, time for the "lossy" images to snap to sharper one once you arrow down or click on it. It takes many seconds now, and takes longer to resolve than I think most users will be prepared to accept. Maybe some caching of adjacent areas by the servers that optimize? Just a thought....

brilliant. i really like the way you can "zoom" and quickly to any spot on a page. the preview window is awsome. i think text input is a little clunky, however, this is something which i will have to get used to... as i will have to get used to some of the other controll. overall, im excited.

its fairly stable on my hp hw6945. hung a little when clearing the cache.

i look forward to the public release!

Very impressive. Kind of reminds me of the Bitstream thunderhawk browser but faster. Very good job so far!

Works great! Thank you!

Pretty good browser, I am quite impressed. Had no problems with the install. It still needs a little work obviously but so far I am very impressed.

Same here Brandon. I presume we've got to wait for another email.
3/29/2007 4:22:01 AM UTC
Just FYI. On the FAQ page, Am I limited to use this application inside the corporate network? has no answer. Is this just a leftover from an internal alpha? Thanks!
3/29/2007 4:33:59 AM UTC
Basically the only thing I have a problem with so far is not being able to log into sites. Other than that right now I have no complains but I have been using it for only 15 minutes though. Looking forward to more updates in the future.

First of all, the software is great for surfing .. but i do have some problem for it. I cannot log in to web base email using the deepfish. and the i use it on Treo 750V and i cannot use my stylus to tap on the hyperlink even after i'm zoom to the particular pages
3/29/2007 4:37:24 AM UTC
I'm running it on my HTC S620 with WM6 and I'm really impressed. I like the zooming and panning and I'm really glad to see no scroll bars.

* I think the bumper bars should be changed to just a grey rectangle. For some reason the 8 or so black and white lines look like its reloading the image the first few times you use it, until you realise what they are for.
* I'd like it to use my mobile favourites instead of it's own built in ones.
* At the moment when you navigate forwards or back the screen goes white and it shows the "requesting..." label. Why not keep the same page in view and make the label a pop up at the bottom?
* Option to show cue map when fully zoomed out. This is useful for long pages.

These suggestions are probably all pretty obvious, I might post more later but at the moment its looking great.

Just set it up. Works pretty good. I agree with the statement about timeframe and images clearing. Having issues getting links clicked on, wish stylus was supported for that feature, PPC6700 users are going to have broken joystick buttons in NO time, with the multitude of uses for it. Very cool however, I am hoping in final releases that all the limitations (AJAX, animations, Java, cookies etc.) will not be there.
Hubby says def. navs more pages than standard PIE. :) YAY. So far groovy!

Just finished installing Deepfish on my phone. I'm really loving it! Since I just installed it I don't have much to say about it. I will do so once I've had more time to mess around with this application. Great job Microsoft.

Runs well on my htc universal with wm6 (crossbow) the vista install did not work , i used the cabs files after a few tries. Great browser, very fast and lite, great! perfect for a ppc.

Right now the only feature I like is seeing the full page which requires the ability to zoom so the zoom is a necessity. The page takes too long to render when moving around while zoomed in. Page load up is alright not fast at all. I currently use opera mini and at this time would not change to Deepfish.
3/29/2007 5:12:44 AM UTC
Alright, these are my first 5 min impressions, but so far so good! The only things I would have liked would be a lot more stylus support. Like as someone mentioned, the ability to click/drag to make a zoom rectangle would be amazing. And I'd like to be able to tap a the screen and have it zoom in where I tap, and then be able to tap again to have it zoom out. Also, I found that it took a while to actually connect to some pages (It was "requesting" for a while) before it started downloading data. Also a minor glitch, when you scroll to the very top/very bottom the screen kinda glitches a little. (ex. weird jumpy lines at the top) Other than that, everything was pretty solid! Thanks for making such an awesome program!

The cache is stored to a folder in the My Documents directory. Might I suggest the option to save the cache to a storage card instead?

A suggestion for an additional interface in addition to the joystick navigation. Make it so you can click on the "fish" in the corner and bring up a menu for changing the way the stylus works in the PPC version. So I click the fish, it shows an icon for "zoom in", "zoom out", etc, allowing me to only have to browse with the stylus and quickly changing the way the stylus interacts with the screen. So I pull the page with the stylus, click the fish click zoom in, drag my box, and click the middle of the box to select the zoom, automatically changing back to the move tool. I click the fish, hit zoom out, and it zooms out.

This way I don't have to worry using two hands to browse on the PPC interface, and can quickly do everything with the stylus.
3/29/2007 5:28:44 AM UTC
I love it... Absolutely love it. It's so far superior to the traditional pocket pc/smartphone browsing methods we've all been used to. And most importantly IT WORKS. Clarity is great and I can navigate with a lot more ease. Props to M$ they're clearly kickin tail. I can actually use my phone to browse the web now.. the old way already seems so ancient.

The only downside is the pages aren't formatted for a pc phone. While this is technically the point of deep fish, Smartphones/pocketpcs don't have all the plugins that IE has. So if I click on a java link obviously it won't work. Flash objects won't work, etc. This is of course expected and pales in comparison to the ease of navigation this new browser offers.

It took me a while to figure out the zoom feature. It'd be nice if when you held down the stylus it would bring up the zoom box. Better yet if you could hold and drag a box around what you wanted to zoom in on that would work even better.

Something to think of even BEYOND that would be to implement a more dynamic experience where you can select text and copy and paste it, or even copy and paste pictures (Windows Mobile 6?). I often copy and pasted text from the old built in mobile IE to my word program and it'd be nice if I had that capability with Fish.

Anyways, great work guys! Works flawlessly!
AWESOME! Love it

Richard Stocks, we did have variable zoom-in levels in our early prototype; however, usability studies showed the different fixed zoom-in & zoom-out (menu) currently provide covers most of the basic scenarios.

As many noted/observed the limitations as you play with Deepfish ... we already talked about this @ 'What is Deepfish?'. The current release Does NOT support - AJAX, Java script, clean-data-entry, flash, video & secure sites.

Paul, you can use this outside the corpnet over you regular data plan.

Malc, infact some though those bumper bars is a bug :-) ...it was primarily added to help when you browse pages with lot of whitespace, it is just a visual cue to indicate that you reached the edge of the page. Sharing favorites was one of the big feature request that we are considering for next release. Thx for the other feedbacks

LadyS, the app does allow you to use stylus to click links.
Stussy, I am sorry you are had problems with vista...we have several users follow the special VISTA instructions & it worked. Please give it a shot.

Max, stylus supports features that you highlighted. Those JUMPY LINES is a feature :-)

Fippo, during install it does prompt & option to choose cache storage - Storage card 'or' My Documents

Thx All for your feedback - Srinath

Thanks for the update, Srinath. I'm using this on my Axim X51V on wifi at home. I honestly didn't figure out the navigation until reading the FAQ, but now, it's making sense. I was going to post on the jumpy lines but see it was posted on already. :^) I also tried the draw a square to zoom in, like Pocket Streets, but nothing happened. Would it be possible to offer that as a feature you could toggle?

I would love the option of blocking ads. It's a complete waste of bandwidth and makes zooming in on content that I do want to view more difficult.

I'd also like to see a "forward" option. Sometimes you hit the back button and then want to go forward again or hit back by mistake and have to find the link you just came from and go through loading the page, with all the banner spam and ads all over again.

Cookie support would also be great! Thanks.

I'm DISAPPOINTED!

Let me just say first that I don't have access to the Beta, but I can see what DeepFish is.

When I first heard about DeepFish from my friend, I thought MS had silently and quietly developed a better IE for the Windows Mobile devices. Now as I watch the videos and go through the FAQ I know what DeepFish is... PROXY RENDERING. As mentioned by a previous comment, this is not new, and no matter how you try to sell the idea, proxy rendering SUCKS!

Let's not even talk about all the dynamic content, the main disadvantage about proxy rendering is that any important information you fill into a form will pass through the proxy rendering server, and that raises a whole load of privacy issues doesn't it?

Secondly, no matter how big, or how much money MS might have. How many servers would MS need in order to cater for proxy browsing requests from users all over the world?

This was an intereseting experiment, but PLEASE, just nip this in the bud and move along to making a REAL usable compact browser instead of relying on server side rendering!
3/29/2007 8:57:59 AM UTC
As per Brandon's comment earlier, should I have another email with the Welcome one or do you just send out the activation code straight away and delay the download?
3/29/2007 10:29:04 AM UTC
I mainly use the web browser to transfer money from my netbank website.

However when i press the login button (an image button) the border of deepfish flashes green (i'm guessing to indeicate that i pressed something) but it doesnt navigate.

I'm not sure what it might be, perhaps its that its an image button, or perhaps deepfish doesn't support javascript.

If you wish to know the url please email me (this form doesn't allow external links)

Apart from that its working great. :)
3/29/2007 11:18:04 AM UTC
I've just missed out on downloading the Deepfish browser. Any chance someone could provide the User-Agent and http header details that this browser sends upon a request to a server.

Thanks!

Oh....wow. I've only had the chance to play with it for a few minutes before bed last night but I'm impressed! I have it on a Verizon Moto Q running WM5 and it runs spectacularly!

I agree with one of the above posters that the graphic for the bumpers should be changed a bit. When I hit the edges of the screen, the effect makes me think that it's messing up the page more than warning me that I've hit the border.

Really, folks...this is a great application! I've recently switched back from OSX to a PC running Vista at home and after deciding to eventually go WM6 over getting an iPhone, I was wondering how I'd get as rich of a web experience as they demoed at MacWorld. Please...pleeeasseeee work DeepFish into release product that I can run on my next phone. :)

Well I got an activation code and all for installing the program, but I didn't get a download link so I have nowhere to input the activation code. I'd really like to try this since I just paid $25 for Opera Mobile and I won't even get to use my purchase until they bring out the Windows Mobile 5 version sometime this month. Any suggestions?

Srinath, are you absolutely sure you don't want to increase the number of available copies? ;-)

I'm going to publish the continuation of my well-known, almost two-year-old Windows Mobile Browser Bible in 2-3 days (the comparison / feature chart is already ready), which will be the best Windows Mobile Web browsing-related roundup / article available. I'd be really delighted to be able to include personal opinions on the app in the Browser Bible & also post news items in the Pocket PC Magazine blog when it receives updates / fixes.

Innovative Annoyance 101:

1. Post your crazy new beta app to technology enthusiast websites with vast amounts of traffic.
2. Make user fill out form requesting personal information.
3. Place some artificial limit on the number of downloads that can take place of your beta app. Preferably a limit that will fill up before 90% of the readership reads the article.
3. Make customers fill out the form before they're told the artifical limit has already been reached.
4. ???
5. Profit!

If you're not going to continue to offer it for download, I would remove the download link. I would love to try it, but evidently I read my news a little late today.
3/29/2007 3:40:47 PM UTC
This is an excellent browser, even for a beta version. However, I do notice that some extremely long web pages have issues with the bottom portion of the page. It gets cut off and you can only see about two thirds of the page, especially on discussion forums. Also, you tend to do a lot of side to side scrolling, which gets annoying. This would probably be remedied by allowing users to crunch the page and get a pseudo-widescreen view so you can see more horizontally.

Overall, I really hope this technology makes it into windows mobile 6. It should definitely replace internet explorer. I would also love to see the seadragon and photosynth technologies implimented into XBOX 360 and Zune. Things could get really exciting with those devices. Great work and I didn't mention the lack of java, video viewing, etc... as it seems that these things were probably intentionally left out because they aren't finished yet. Take care.
3/29/2007 4:02:34 PM UTC
Also read the news to late today to try the beta. You really should let more people try it.
3/29/2007 4:05:10 PM UTC
I downloaded the CAB file for my Samsung i730 PPC phone.

The install went cleanly.

However, the application will not start.

Clicking the icon, you see the words "MS Deepfish..." in the top menu bar and then it immediately vanishes. Checking the running programs in memory shows it not running.

Pointers, clues are welcomed...

From my blog:

One of the small inconveniences of browsing the web on a mobile device be it my Dell Axim or a cell phone etc. is that it just plain SUCKS. The browser never gets the page right, the fonts and images are all over the place and by the time you find what you need four hours of tedious scrolling have occured.

Enter Microsoft Labs Deepfish. Deepfish is a VERY COOL mobile web browser that shows you the entire web page you are looking for and then allows you to zoom into certain areas for navigating and clicking. It's very intuitive and doesn't change a thing - WYSIWYG!!!

So it seems I am hooked on Deepfish. I downloaded today after getting a web invite to try it out. Once you use it on your own mobile device you will never go back. Very cool technology.
3/29/2007 8:41:36 PM UTC

Hmmmm. Registered, was notified trial was full and then got sent activation ID via email but I cannot download the installer. Catch 22. Help!

"Max, stylus supports features that you highlighted. Those JUMPY LINES is a feature :-)"

In response to your response (lol), you said the stylus supports the features that I mentioned, but I have to use the joy stick to do pretty much everything. Like what I meant earlier was to be able to click/drag to make a zoom box (without ever touching the joystick) and then tap to zoom in. And, once zoomed in, be able to somehow zoom out. (without ever touching the joystick) Because, after using it a lot more, I noticed that you basically require the joystick to do everything, even clicking through links and whatnot. (I still don't understand why I cant tap a link, while I'm in zoomed mode, and have it open the link) Like when you zoom in, how exactly do you zoom out? It would be incredibly helpful if there was a tutorial somewhere, as I honestly don't understand how the program truly functions. lol. Also, I'd really like to see you guys implement some sort of menu system with that little fish in the bottom right corner. I believe you could really make the mobile browsing experience a lot easier if the program had more stylus integration. Hell, it would be pretty cool if the program ran on some sort of gesture system, (http://optimoz.mozdev.org/gestures/index.html as an example) like you could tap that little fish to turn on stylus gesture recognition or something. Maybe I'm thinking too much... lol. Anyways, I'll be looking forward to the final version, and thanks for taking time to read my comment.

Marauderz, let me disagree about proxy rendering and the proxy servers' inability to support high load.

I've made numerous (!) load tests on both Opera Mini's and Thunderhawk's central proxy server. I've never encountered any slowdowns - actually, these two browsers are still among the fastest (only Opera Mobile and the forthcoming NetFront 3.4 are faster) when even sending over (originally) big (!) HTML pages. (Also note that I'll publish my latest load test results in the forthcoming Windows Mobile Web Browsing Bible to be published in a few days.) Also, I've been using the Toonel service for over a year - without major problems.

That is, in practice, I don't think the load on the central servers will encounter any problem. Microsoft's new browser will not be slower than, say, Opera Mini or Thunderhawk if they DO purchase the right hardware (and I do think they will do it ;-) ).

Are you still not able to download the installer? Can you try entering the same details (email address) that you had put earlier on the download page?

Nice, but I hope someone will have a look at Java functionality too. This is still horor on GSM's and Smartphones. Support for that would be a great step!!

For those who have got an email with an activation code, but don't know how to get the download. Head back to the registration page. Enter your email (which you signed up with) and the picture text, (don't enter phone model or promotion code) and click download. You should be taken to the download page with the various options.

I wasn't able to download Deepfish (all Beta slots are used). Is it really only for Windows Mobile 5? I upgraded my HTC Wizard 200 (err TMobile MDA) to WinMo6 and LOVE IT!! purchased Microsoft VoiceCommand 1.6 ($39) as well. Now its 95% the perfect PDAphone 'cept for the web browser.

Hopefully I won't have to wait too long for the next beta. :-/
3/29/2007 9:33:03 PM UTC
well this is bad..its already full...lets jus hope its gonna be open again
3/29/2007 9:37:52 PM UTC

3/29/2007 9:52:16 PM UTC
Folks,

This browser is really great, works really well in my treo. Questions : Can we see this browser upported to the Xbox 360 ?
I can clearly see the navigation style working wonderfully with the console controller/interface...any ETA ? :)

3/29/2007 10:02:12 PM UTC
Nice! Too bad Apple announced theirs version months ago and got a big bounce. Now MS looks like an also ran... with worse controls versus using my fingers. Need to have a non-button interface... Also, where does this leave ZenZui? How about an single solutions for multiple platforms? Jeez - you guys just do not get it...
3/29/2007 10:08:22 PM UTC
Microsoft will never beat Opera because Opera takes care of all the mobile users. This product is from Microsoft and it doesn't even support Windows Mobile 2003 SE. People are not gonna upgrade their phones like they do their PCs or buy a new phone when the one they have works fine. Unless Microsoft starts making a compatible browser for all Windows Mobile devices(Stops being a money hog and only making programs for newer versions of Windows Mobile), they don't stand a chance against Opera or other competitors.
3/29/2007 10:36:54 PM UTC
looks like a cheap knock-off of the iPhone Safari browser...

I cannot believe they are limiting the download of this, dont they want a wider audience to review this application? Come one MS, open up some more reservatons!!!
3/29/2007 11:39:04 PM UTC
I'm LOVING deepfish, my only suggestion which is very easy to implement is a full screen mode for the smartphone version. The titlebar and menubar at the bottom are totally unnecessary and the extra screen space could be put too good use in displaying pages.

The stylus doesn't work for me at all. I can't use it to navigate, zoom, scroll, click links, or really do anything other than access the menus. I'm using a Samsung SCH-i730 if that's any help.
3/29/2007 11:52:13 PM UTC
This is another example of Microsoft's user centric and practical vision.

DeepFish is certainly a step forward in right direction but to make it a success (with the criteria of aking the mobile browsing usable and productive in day-today life of end user), DeepFish must support all technologies (Javascript, HTTP Post, Cookie, Ajax and ActiveX) supported by Internet Explorer.

In another words, DeepFish shall be fully compatible with Internet Explorer at some stage. Microsoft shall publish the DeepFish's development road map for public review at early stage (i.e. as soon as possible).
3/30/2007 12:21:18 AM UTC
1) I think it's cruel that you won't allow all of us to download!
2) I use my PPC device to access (with some difficulty) OWA at my client's site (I use my own Corporate Exchange to push mail to me). Will DeepFish work any better with OWA than the built in IE 4 browser does?
3/30/2007 1:00:43 AM UTC
This looks like promosing technology. However, todays web pages use AJAX and javascript extensively. You must be able to handle these web 2.0 capabilities in order to meet what I would consider a minimum level of acceptable functionality.

We sell organizational software
for real estate agents. They would think that this technology is fantastic as they realtors are often glued to their phone and using DeepFish would allow them to interact with their information as well as partners and assistants from their RealtyJuggler portal page.

It appears as though my activation code no longer works. Would appreciate it if a new one could be emailed. Thanks in advance!
3/30/2007 1:18:47 AM UTC
My question still remains....I input my e'mail address wrong and have not received an activation code via e'mail. I read the previous post which states to log back in and you can redownload the application. This is not an issue....I did it, and was sent back to the same page to redownload the application. However, I still need an activation code. How do you go about having a code resent? I can verify with you my original incorrectly typed e'mail I input as well as the correct one it should be. Please help.

I would prefer for it to open a viewport at the top middle of the screen by default, then I could immediately see the most important part of most pages. From there I can immediately activate content with one click (e.g. start typing in live search box, navigate and click links on MSN page), or I could hit the left menu button to zoom out and get the overview.

I do not like that to be useful I already have to perform an action or two.

Nice so far! Haven't played with it much on my Blackjack, but it sure looks to be spot on. I wasn't quite brave enough to try the Vista installer (I've had a few minor problems with Vista and my Blackjack) but the XP installer worked flawlessly.
3/30/2007 2:27:39 AM UTC
Werner, ok, I'll reserve judgement on the performance aspects. But what about the privacy issues?
3/30/2007 2:34:36 AM UTC

Hi Ting,

Thanks for responding to my request. My email does not start with jelles....it starts with "jeffelles" instead. As I said before, I mistakenly placed the lettter "l" after the "at" sign and before the gmail making the new word lgmail. Oopsy..... Thanks so much!!
3/30/2007 4:44:37 AM UTC
Some things I would like in the release version include:

Being able to adjust the zoom box
Full screen mode a'la PIE
Automatically signing to a home page
Cut and paste does seem to work at this time in the address bar
I can't set a different address as my home page
Still no flash support to allow Youtube out of the box
3/30/2007 4:58:22 AM UTC
Nice browser!

But unfortunately it doesn't seem to work properly behind HTTP proxies. Although the diagnosis in Deepfish ended successfully I'm not able to receive web pages behind my HTTP proxy while Pocket IE works flawlessly with the same Proxy connection... :-(
Any suggestions?

is very difficult to find exact position of word (this is very important for law text)

no one pocket pc internet browser has this feature

Howdy,

I just installed DF. Thank you to Daniel Murfin for explaining how to get the download to work. (I got the message about the lack of slots initially, but I did receive an email with my activation code.) Here's my initial reactions after about 5 minutes of use. I hope these will be useful, even though I'm sure I will figure things out better just by spending more time:

Generally, I like the "look" a lot. The scaling and antialiasing seems to work well. Many pages look very nice, although I noticed that the menu bars on arstechnica didn't render correctly. You warned us about such things, so no harm, no foul.

Performance is good (Sprint 6700 on EVDO) except for in one area. When loading a new page, the phase where "Requesting..." appears on the screen can take 5-10 seconds. Once the "Speed:..." indicator shows up, things proceed quickly. It would be nice if that happened quicker.

At first, I thought I couldn't select links with the stylus, but now it appears I can. There's no audible feedback when I "click" with the stylus, so it's a bit difficult to tell if I hit the link or not.

I wish I had finer control over the zoom level, in two ways:

1) When I'm out in the fully unzoomed view, I wish I could control the size of the "zoom box" more exactly. I want to size it so the width of the "box" matches the column width of the page that I'm on. If I use the Zoom Out and Zoom In buttons, the box is often just a little bit too narrow or wide. (I need a setting in between.) Ideally, it would be nice if I could draw an aspect-ratio-constrained box around the exact area I wanted to zoom into.

2) Once I'm zoomed in, I wish there was a way to further adjust the zoom. Maybe zoom in again to see some fine detail. Or maybe just ease the zoom level out slightly in order to fit a screen element onto the screen fully. I don't see a way to do this, although again, these are just my initial impressions.

Well, that's it for my initial reactions. Now I'll go RTFM. :)

So Microsoft you really suck. I go to a page that says I can download deepfish and try it. You ask for my email address in order to get deepfish, so I give it to you. Once you have it you tell me that deepfish is no longer available. So you get my email and I get nothing.

Nice!

I love the concept of browsing in this fashion. Seems to work great except for the obvious things like not being able to login to sites etc... There was one comment I had. The "iphone like" scroll seems a bit much. I does look pretty stylish, but kinda hard to navigate. If this was an attempt to be more like the iphone, I would say lose that feature, and just use regular scrolling. Screw apple and iphone. Lets embrace what the pc has always been, boring, unstylish and trustworthy. Just the way I like it!!! Anyway, huge leap foward from PIE, and keep the updates coming..... Will we be notified whenever a new version is out? Or do we need to keep checking?

p.s. one handed, one handed, one handed navigation!! no stylus please!!!!!

Very cool idea. The sites that I've viewed have looked great. One suggestion that I have is that it would be cool if on landscape devices (like my cingular 3125) you could rotate the page 90 degrees. That way you would not have to pan horizontally as much.

on pocket is you change the orientation, either wy sliding out the keyboard or thru system configuration, deepfish automatically rotates accordingly to give you a better view.

sorry we tried to support 2003 but not everything we needed is available at 2003, especially the new features we are working on right now.

Hi,
I am not able to download the app.
It's pity that MS the software giant has to restrict the downloads, how the hell people suppose to check this app. If you knew this is going to happen, make universal Activation key and let people host the app for download. Simply pathetic effort on your team's part.

Hi Yash,
I managed to download it. Bizarrely if I tried not entering the promo code I could get to the downloads.
Thanks.

So far I like some of the features however I prefer reading things in one-column mode for speed hence I still prefer PIE however if PIE and Deepfish were integrated that would be a very attractive browser.

For previewing a site and the navigating the components of a site it is excellent. It reminds me of Picsel Viewer I use for PDF review. I find the delay between toggling from zoomed mode to get to the pointer mode for links a bit laborious and there is no status icon on the mode in use which would be useful.
I would love it if it it supported an option to intelligently re-render or displayed the text in one-colum mode when zoomed in for ease of reading.

As to stability on a Palm Treo 750v....no problems to date

More later...

Ok nice work guys at ms. A couple of things it is a hassle to log into websites and also like everyone says better stylus support. Also can you clear up a question when it takes a while once you zoom in for the image to clear up is that on your end or is that my evdo connection that slows it from clearing up.

That's great - you ask me for my email address and then - when I submit to your site - you claim that I get nothing to download. So why you don't tell tu public that there is not possible to make any downloads now??? Why you ask for my address for downloading if you don't want to let me download anything??? Grrrr!

Hello MS Labs Team,

Nice release. I've developed a quiet similar technique those last month, but my work seems to be much more advanced and wide (in all modesty). I'm on

the way to patent it now. Would you be interested to see and share my work ? I'm sure I can help you to go forward.

Hey guys, be patient. I signed up, and about a day later got the activation code. Still find it a bit slow to render the pages and zoom in/out, but not bad for an early version. Needs full stylus integration for ppc though!

One comment - can you move the Cache directory out of My Documents? I use WDMC to sync all of My Documents on the mobile device to Windows, and it's rather silly to sync the Cache. Takes extra time and usually accounts for 90% of the synchronization actions.

For those of you who are mad they grabbed your email and not slick enough to game the system yet, take a look at the instructions listed above from Daniel Murfin. It subtly tells you what you need to do. Follow those instructions and use an email from someone that has been granted the privilege to download it. The email addresses are listed all over this page!!! ;-) Come on MS..

Note: We've had an overwhelming amount of interest in Deepfish and are currently reaching capacity limits. To receive an email notification of future availability please enter your details and click the 'Download' button below.
